Testimonials

The greatest impact many of us can have at work is in the effective coaching and leading of others. We can achieve more by leading a team than working alone. The CAPE programme enables you to share with others experiences and challenges you face and thus develop some of the essential skills of leadership and coaching. In a very practical and supportive way. I would encourage all those who want to develop these skills to take part.

The course helps you take the time to reflect on yourself as a people manager, take a step back and with that also gain more confidence. The course also provides tools such as a very useful coaching framework that we also put in to practice in the training.

Research Team Director

It's had a massive impact on me, I now reflect more and I'm not taking everyone's job on my shoulders. The team are more empowered, the behaviours of handing everything to me or thinking it's my problem to fix has changed. People now come with actually what they think is the answer and we agree a way forward together. When I asked for help, any personal development or career advice, Lynsey and Naomi were always right there to support me. I can't thank you both enough. This is the best course I've ever been a part of in the 23 Years I’ve been in BT.

CAPE has been a really positive learning experience for me. Naomi and Lynsey do a brilliant job at sharing some of the practical theories around coaching and people management in an interactive, engaging way with regular discussions to ensure we can apply learnings effectively. The communication between the wider group has also been helpful and the programme has definitely enhanced my understanding and skills in this area. I have already shared learnings from this into my team to a positive reception and am planning to do more.

What we’ll need from you to make this work

So you’re not feeling overly confident now, but it won’t be long before you will be. We expect to need around 10 hours of your time each month at the start of the programme, and that’s all we ask you give us.

Once we’re six months in, the time commitment will reduce to 2/3 hours a month, enabling you to put everything you’ve learnt into action with the support of your CAPE community.

You won’t feel like you’re being lectured during any of those hours though. The programme will have an immersive, experiential feel rather than that standard “taught” approach, which is underpinned by the coaching skills we’ll pass onto you during the process.
